Italian Made Ski Hat (~Size 57)Vintage Italian made wool ski cap. There is no size, but it measures 22 1 2" around the inside which is a European size 57. Sabino Doria started making hats in 1937. Very dark blue (almost black) wool. The ties on the front are discolored faded. Some light staining on the liner. The wool has some areas of wear, but no holes. The brim is a crease in it. I am unsure the age on this, it could be late 1930s to 1950s. Either way, it has a good period

Beautiful quality. Deep thick fur. The "patches" are noting more than where 4 or 5 inch splits, one at each end were stitched back together. I wouldn't have even called them patches. They are the same stitching as used to join the two pelts in the middle. The color is a very clean white. Being natural pelt, I was really expecting something a little more blond. I've bought New Zealand sheepskin several times before and I don't doubt this is Aussie or Kiwi sheepskin but I didn't notice this is processed in China before I bought it. Still, the only complaint I had was a strange chemical smell when I unwrapped it. It didn't smell like the tanning chemicals from previous pelts. But it's gone away after 3 weeks so I guess all's good.
