The inside brim is size stamped "Q64", along with the lot number of "362", denoting 1941 production by the F. W. Quist, Esslingen factory. In the crevices of its original feldgrau repaint are remnants of an original whitewash winter camouflage. Beneath the repaint, on the wearer's left side is an apparent decal.
